I bought a Eheim Classic 250 from Amazon and it arrived with a broken piece shown in picture. I’ve never used a canister filter, but after taking it apart and looking it over I don’t think the broken piece will affect the functionality, but someone with more knowledge might be able to tell me. If it will affect the filter, I’ll replace it. If not, I’ll just go with it. Normally I wouldn’t be contemplating this and would immediately replace it, but because of my current reef tank situation the sooner I get this filter installed the better. Time is a factor. So anyone with more experience using Eheim Canister filters, your input is appreciated.

It won’t affect the seal. It still clamps down
