Elegance coral has a Tear

hello everyone, i have had my elegance coral for 3 weeks now it seems like it had been doing good, showing good growth and everything. I noticed a few days ago there seems to be a tear on the middle from the edge to the mouth. Is this something to be worried about i have not seen anything like this on YouTube or anything so I’m turning to you guys to see what i should do about this. I’m hoping it will heal and recover over time. I don’t have any power heads right now and only flow is from the return pump so flow isn’t too high at all i do have the elegance on my rocks i was told by my lfs i can place him in the middle of the tank so i chose to place it on the middle level on the live rock. I have attached photos here it is still pretty small the heads are about 1 inch

I'm fairly certain that what you have is a duncan coral. Regarding the tear, I would just leave it for now as duncans are quite hardy. Make sure your water parameters are consistent.
If things appear to be getting worse I would consider dipping it.

I’m 99% sure that that’s a Duncan. They’re pretty hardy, it’ll probably be okay. If it starts to get an infection then you can give it an iodine dip.

I just looked it up you guys are right. That’s so weird the lfs i bought it from said it was a elegance thanks though I’ll keep an eye on it

I would question the knowledge/reliability of that store. It's one thing to confuse one type of acro for another or something, but duncans and elegance look nothing alike.
