A short video would really help, sometimes we need a visual. In the meantime, I agree I would add an airstone and get a powerhead in the tank and aim it at the surface to agitate the surface.

Post a pic of your Tank and a video of your fish. It could be a pathogen causing the high respiration. Also, what is your salinity and temp?

Micro, when did you get these Fish and were they Qt'd? This looks like a Pathogen, and I see a problem with your Idols's eye. Definitely add an Air stone and I would perform a Water Change ASAP. Do you plan on adding a Corals or is this a FOWLR Tank? That makes treatment easier. Hard to tell if this is Ich but maybe Velvet, however the treatment is the same. Do you have Chelated Copper? Meds can be difficult to get in Canada.

Other thread answered. Do a sizable water change and add an air stone. Lighting in video is not the best but may be a gill disease such as flukes, My suspect cause. Velvet is also a gill disease but would be noticeable. Naso also very thin..... is it eating?

Yes but since my tank is fish only I treated them with copper in the water so I’m not sure what is

Yes and this is the worse kit on the market also formulated for freshwater and at $30 is not worth the risk to sustain a few hundred in fish. I suggest taking a water sample to a store that does NOT use Api kits and have them test your ammonia and nitrates and compare readings- then you'll know where your levels truly are at

Micro, can you post a few more pics? Is it both eyes on your Idol that look suspicious? Cloudy eyes are a symptom of Flukes. Are any of your Fish Scratching or Flashing? They look very lethargic in the Video. If there is no improvement with a Water Change and an Airstone, more than likely illness.

I think this was already mentioned as suspect cause. Lets not confuse others here as symptoms are noticeable already

Your pH seems low, that pH test kit brand is tough to read though, you might want to have the pH tested with another method to confirm. A low pH often goes with high carbon dioxide which in turn is related to poor oxygenation which in turn causes rapid breathing.

However, this seems like a disease issue, possibly in combination with low oxygen.

Have you list any fish yet?
Are the fish still eating?

The two primary diseases here would be velvet/Amyloodinium or gill flukes. If fish are not eating, it’s more likely velvet. If they are still eating, it’s more likely flukes.
