Emperor angel blotches

GM, we recently added a show size to sailfin Tang to our fowlr tank. The emperor Angel, now has these marks on him. About a year ago, he really struggled with flukes and almost didn’t make it, we brought him back with a freshwater dip. I also noticed some of the other Fish flashing, so we started prazipro. Any insight would be appreciated.

Emperors are well known for developing these skin blotches for any skin irritation. The two common causes are ich or flukes. Trouble is, I can't tell you which this is based on just the photos....

Are the eyes hazy at all? If so, I'd say this is Neobenedenia flukes. Can you see any spots on the fins? If so, that might point more towards ich.

I see these from experience as flukes and suggested is treatment in a separate tnak using PraziPro at 85% of recommended dosage with air stone added.
How is breathing. . . Normal or labored?
Apply dosage and allow to work for 8 days, do a water change and apply one more dosage application lasting 8 days

Thanks Jay, nothing on his fins. I believe flukes was a major issue with him about a year ago. Same colorations, prazi did not work that time and a fresh water bath saved him from imminent death. I think ur reccomdenation before was 2 rounds of prazi 3-4 days apart.

If it is Neobenedenia flukes, (likely here) then prazi may not work - that can take multiple treatments, but then, a bacteria grows in the tank that consumes prazi as fast as you add it. For stubborn Neo infections, I use a 30 days hyposalinity treatment (no corals or inverts of course!).

I can confirm the Neobenedenia flukes on my tilefish didn't even flinch lol, and I dosed GC/Prazi five times total. The fish ended up with a heavy infestation, and I also had to do a FW dip to save them. Only now that they've been in hypo for the past two weeks have they finally settled down and stopped flashing and head shaking.
