Encrusting SPS ID needed

I didn’t have any luck in the hitchhiker ID section, so I’ll try here. Any ideas? It’s SPS and the patch of encrustation is about the size of a nickel.

doesnt resemble a cyphastrea to me, the shape of the polyps is more akin to a porites. OP could you get a turkey baster and squirt water towards the coral to get it to retract its polyps. I think looking at the skeleton would give us better insight.

I misspoke, it’s actually about the size of a dime.

Congrats, you’ve got a Porites. They love light although judging from its colour it looks fine where it is. Make sure you have ample chaotic flow, you’d wanna watch its polyps sway. They’re generally slow growers. Here’s mine that has been growing for more than a year from a single frag. As you can see in the second pic the corallites ridges are similar.
