Their kolaches are 100% bread driven. The contents are pretty weak, if we're being honest. A hot dog or some sandwich meat rolled up with a slice of American cheese. The bread, however, is absolutely fantastic, especially fresh out the oven, which it usually is.

Also, I didn't know this, but apparently kolaches are pretty regional thing. Years ago when my brother went hunting up in Missouri, he was asking about them and his friends up there had not ever heard of them. I thought that was interesting. I wonder if they've spread at all?

See, that's what I'm talking about! There's a small chain around here called Southern Made that has a lot more interesting fillings like that, and they're really good! Bread isn't as on point, but the content inside blows Shipleys away. Having said that, I've had Shipley's my whole life and I love their stuff too!
