I moved my 40 gallon tank and the engineer goby wasn’t thrilled. But everything looks good. I made the mistake of adding a rock after I cleaned it and it spiked the alkalinity and calcium. Today I find him breathing visibly which he’s usually done but his skin looks horrible… It started with a little patch shortly after I moved them and has been getting progressively worse so I’m not sure if it’s the alkalinity and calcium spike or something else.
Everything else in the tank looks good however.
Or is this the thick mucus that they are known to make?
