Engineer goby

so I bought a 4 inch engineer goby about a month ago, he was in quarintine for about 3 weeks and was doing well, eating and coming out of the PVC tube every once in a while. I put him my main tank, it's a 46 bow and he disappeared and I haven't seen him since. I'm assuming he is hiding in the rocks but I'm just curious how long till he will come out or is this how they are. Thanks in advance for any input.

It's just the way they are.. They will come out of hiding within a few days. I have a friend who had a 6" in a 150g and it topped over everything tunneling under the LR, so be sure not to stack too high and if you haven't anchored everything yet, look into it. Just a FYI;)

They are big time tunnel builders, so that takes a little time. They usually keep to the burrows they built, but are very bold once they get used to the feeding routine.
