What is a basic build to get clown fish to breed. Planning on a 29g tank. Any requirements for them to breed. What do they need to lay their eggs on. Any tank mates?

i mean a 29 gal tank for a pair of clowns is imo to big (well it just wont be ulitized, as they will tend to only stay in their hosting area). i always have used clay pots it just works but you can also go with the tiles as some people do. youll need a heater the clowns, filtration (sump would be best). you also need a hatch tank and a growout tank. youll need sponge filters, air pump and heaters for the hatch tank. for the growout youll want to have that also plumbed to a sump to be able to handle the bio load (i guess HOB stuff could work) and heater. Plus you need to has a 5 gal bucket or 2 for Rots to grow. That Pickle's guide lnked above is a great starting place! good luck!!

Thanks for starting this thread. I have had a mated pair of clowns for years that keep laying their eggs just to disappear once hatched. I'm starting to feel bad and would like to do the same.
