Erchant carries a shell

This guy carries a seashell 24/7. I take them off
and it gets another one. lol. This is normal?

Yeah, that's normal. They basically use them as camouflage - some people have had their urchins carry things like toy hats, snails, coral frags/small colonies, algae, etc.

It can be pretty entertaining.
