Eshopps HOB overflow. Issue or non issue?

It was such a hassle to get this thing online. Worst buying experience ever from a big name retailer and eshopps themselves.

From multiple orders and returns and still missing parts and trying to get them, I finally have a complete unit.

Now I notice that the internal box is not plum. Is it supposed to be like that? Is it a big deal?

I ran two eshopps hob overflows on my 180g for years. I don't remember them being off like yours but its been a while. I do remember I ended up having to shim mine to raise them up a little to get the water level where I needed it. You may or may not have the same issue. I don't think it will be a problem.
Mine performed well and never lost syphon when I turned off the return pump. People say they cause floods but in over 6 years running them the only time I had water on the floor was when I cranked the return pump up more than than they could handle so that was on me.

EDIT: I wonder if you could heat the acrylic bracket and bend it a little to straighten it out? Only because I'm funny about crooked stuff.

Yeah, maybe it’s really bothering me more than anything. I’ve thought about bending it myself so I can just be done with this whole replacement rigmarole again.

I’m not too worried about flooding. I’m going to put in safety nets and my sump return chamber isn’t big enough to overflow the display
