I have an Eshopps Overflow box (PF-1200) that came with a sump that I bought several years ago when I did freshwater. I have never used the overflow box. It is still in the same packing when I got it.
I am currently doing a new build on a 65G aquarium (48x18x17) that is not drilled and I would like to drill this aquarium and install the black part of the overflow box to be used on the drilled bulkhead.
So my question is would it be better to cut the back of the overflow box out or keep it the way it is? I have looked at several overflow boxes and some seem to have a back and some don't. I know if I used the overflow box without cutting I think I would have to use an additional bulkhead gasket between the back of the box and the glass.
Thanks for the help
Randy
