Brought this frogspawn back to life, was pretty much gone from shipping, was large and fluffy then 4 days ago is shrunk about a tiny bit. Then something tragic happened today, one head completely melted almost, the polyps and guts just fell on to the rock work, yet the other 2 heads and many other euphyllia are full and happy. Again I don’t have accurate params as of right now, getting it tested tomorrow(at work), but I need some advice! I’m worried:,( first pic was from 4 days ago... rest are from this morning

looks like "brown jelly disease" which you should search on here - I am not sure is a disease or just the death of the coral. I would cut off the sick heads and separate any healthy heads.

I didn’t see any brown goo, mostly just the actually flesh/zooanthal die off. That one head actually connects to the other 2 next to it, so they are both going through the same thing as of right now

If it is spreading and your other euphyllia are fine, I would consider removing the affected frogspawn from the tank. Better to lose one than all! Sorry :(

I indeed believe I had bjd on the frog, I’m On my way to the lfs to test my water. I might of been able to salvage 2 heads as they passed the smell test, yet I have 2k in euphyllia sitting in this tiny tank. Any thing y’all would reccomend?

I dragged the dead ones and put my other 2 in my biocube, but it seems to be alive for now.

Got the results, not very good. Feel very inclined to invest in good test kits. Already buffered alk to raise it to 8.1, I’m gonna stop feeding reef roids so my phosphates drops, and stop dosing calcium.

Maybe frag the head that has the bjd and place that piece in its own tank temporarily so you don’t risk your other pieces

Nothing wrong with those number. Pretty much what my reefs runs at with the exception of a little high calcium(I Keep mine @420)
I thought it was okay too, all my corals seem to be happy with an exception of a frammer whose mouth opens and closes and makes my nerves go all out of wack. I dosed to stop alk and I’m gonna stop using reef roids for a month. Hopefully that helps my tank, if not I have y’all to turn too

I did, I actually dragged the 3 headed and chucked it. It was gone this morning. The other 2 heads are managing I guess.the two heads passed the smell test while this smelt like rotting garbage.
