Euro bracing vs rimless large tank

You've got the water very near the top. Does that ever cause issues?
It’s about an inch.
Came manufactured to that level.
It hasn’t yet, and I fly the water across the surface.

I set up my first euro braced tank a year ago, a WB 330.7 84x30x25" . I have smaller rimless tanks. I would never have considered that size with out the brace. Its a huge single piece with 3 openings. It can make working in the tank a hassle but no more than a rimmed tank with cross braces. Its a nice place to set things when working. Also it keeps me from splashing water over the edge when I'm scraping which I always seem to do. It does get filthy tho. Luckily for me being lazy like I am I can't see how dirty it is unless I'm standing on something. If the tank was on a shorter stand it would be more glass to clean only it would have to be cleaned daily in our dusty house.

EDIT: I ran Black vinyl tape around the top of mine to hide the euro bracing. From a quick glance it looks like a rimmed tank.

I like the looks of @Uncle99 tank much better TBO

Love the look of the rimless always have.
Now that I have a lid (to defeat the jumpers) not sure it matters as much.

I have the Pro-Clear, Pro Star, 230. Pro-Clear at least at the time, was located in Jacksonville, FL.

Comes with all the initial setup stuff, an aluminum framed matching stand, thick, 19mm low iron glass and what has proven over 7 years to have solid seams.

What I liked the most as each size was 1/3 lower in terms of cost than all others. So, in Canada, this 230 complete was $2700 in comparison to say Red Sea at $4200

Of course more expensive now.

Beautiful Tank. One tip. Make your own lids out of screen making frame and gaskets with stainless screen from Amazon. It beats glass by a mile no light diffusion or the glass getting that etching

I just glanced over the replies so this may have been mentioned already, rimless tanks are horrible! You will get water splashed over the edge anytime you clean the glass with a magnet cleaner, and even the fish will splash water out. My tank is rimless and it's the worst decision I ever made. A eurobraced tank is far superior in terms of function, it doesn't bother me to see the brace around the top.

I agree and I clean mine with a rod and clamp with a razor blade excellent outfit $20 on Amazon

I Am always looking for new ideas. What do you do to add things that have clamps designed for rimless to mount them. Orphec lighting is the only company I have seen that makes a mount for tis. Its expensive

Update. After looking at other sources and much thought I've decided to go with none of the manufacturers i was looking at in my original few posts. 😇😅😅 Definitely going euro bracing though! Thanks everyone for helping solidify the decision!

A little more into the reasoning I'm going euro. It's mostly due to the depth and length of the tank. At 25+ inches tall the front panel starts to flex especially with high water flow that SPS require. Strength! Another reason is in my other tanks that are rimless I've had to have a mesh top to keep my wrasses from jumping which kind of defeats rimless. Plus a ledge to store maintenance goodies!

Rimmed and eurobraced are two different things right?

Euro bracing on my ext 170 allows me to give as much flow as I want without going over the edge.
My 2 powerheads on Sea Sweeps are only running 1/2 speed and the euro bracing keeps the water in the tank with extreme flow.

Welp...i requested a few quotes since i posted this and each one was far outside a reasonable affordability range. At least for me...at the moment...

Here are a few:

Waterbox : 5.5k tank, 9k stand, 1k sump
Reef savvy: 13k tank, 7.5k stand, N/A sump
Miracle: didnt respond
Glass cages: didn't request
Red sea: didnt request

I ultimately went back to a rimless standard. Yes i know. How could i!?

Ended up ordering a Cade 1800 S2/P.

Reasons - way more in my price range with everything included AND i have scoured the internet for cade failures. I have yet to find one. Maybe they are too new, not sure. Plus they seem to have thought of everything in their sump design.

I did say in my original message that i didnt like the look of their stands but that is small potatoes compared to quality and overall workflow they have. Couldn't get past that. I literally asked for the same dimensions as the 1800 and the price was just nuts in every request.

I owned a rimless for 5 years and didnt mind the extra care required to clean the glass panels without splashing water. Also seems small potatoes. The only worry i have is stability and i seem to get the best of both worlds with Cade.

Hope this helps someone else in my same predicament!
