Hello everyone!
After years of lurking here i figured it was about time to make an account and introduce myself
Unlike most people here i got into reef keeping without much aquarium experience. When i was a kid my parents, grandparents and uncles all kept freshwater aquariums and i was always glued to the glass back then.
I loved coming along on trips to the fish store and was always so happy when i got to pick out a fish. However the brightly coloured salt water fish always got most of my attention so naturally i was often dissapointed to hear "no we can't have that fish that's salt water and salt water is too difficult".
Luckily now about 20 something years on there's no one stopping me from giving it a go except maybe my fiancee but she's all for it and very supportive of my newfound hobby.
I've had a nano saltwater tank for 2 and a half years now and it's been a wonderful journey with a lot of ups and some downs but always amazingly interesting.
Recently i've bought a second hand frag tank and installed it in the storage room along with a small quarantaine tank.
As i'm now looking to upgrade the nano to something bigger the hobby shows no signs of slowing down for me yet
Last week our first son was born so hopefully i can pass this interest on to him as my parents planted the seed with me!
Hope to share my current and future reefing adventures with this lovely community!
