Hi all, my tiny 46L tank is cranking along well except my Nirtite is high ~30ppm it's been going about 4 months and I just bought a protein Skimmer how long before I can see result from that to reduce Nitrate? Is best course of actions just 30% water changes to get it down?

What is the ammonia and nitrate levels? This is the important info, we never test for nitrite on its own.

Ignore it.

The tank is cycled and nitrite is harmless.
What you are actually seeing is Nitrate showing up on the Nitrite test.

30 nitrate? I would do water changes and feed less to get it down.

30 nitrate isn't that high, regular waterchanges will help obviously.
Apologies I mixed it up its ~30-50 PPM Nitrate and 0 Nitrite and 0 Ammonia
