Hey we all love our little bits of ocean... but y’all got any other animals? Exotics especially? Show off your birds, reptiles, amphibians, insects, arachnids, whatever crazy animals you got. Here are my leopard geckos. Rasputin is the black and white one and Bananarama is the yellow one. They’re gonna be proud parents soon!

I’ve been wanting axolotls for the longest time... was thinking about tearing down my 10 gallon shrimp/tetra tank for one but is that enough room? Also I heard it’s hard to get them to eat sometimes, you must be a really good keeper if they’re breeding for you!

no its ridiculously easy. They literally eat anything you put in the tank. I feed mine red wigglers from pets mart or my local bait shop. Once per day and they stay the perfect size. 10 gallons is perfect for one, they don't do much moving around honestly, usually just float in the middle of the tank. I had to separate them they bred so much and so quickly. I now have them in 2 20 gallon tanks, (mainly because the stand I build looked bare with them in 10g). My male is much bigger than my female, about 13" long to 7". The bottom pic you see the male on the bottom in the right corner, female is just hanging out in the middle as usual

That would be an awesome tank for them! They are carnivores and will eat anything smaller than their heads... including each others body parts. But the cool thing is they grow back! Ours never squabbled or took a bite out of one another. Im assuming because we feed them daily. Also, some fish have a tendency of nibbling on the axolotles external gills, (the mane around their heads) which can lead to infections and fungal issues.

I think these are the easiest pets I've ever kept! The one issue alot of people have is water temp. It should be below 70°f. My house stays at 67 year round so that never bothered us

Wow okay I never knew about the temperature, thank you! My house is pretty much 70 F year round but my betta’s tank doesn’t have a heater (ordered a new one but yk covid) and it’s measuring just about/slightly below 70 so that should be okay. Do they mind the high-light environment? Will they eat frozen foods from the beginning? Sorry, I have a lot of questions

I have 5 chickens lol for the eggs but my kids named em now they are family. I've had chameleons, turtles, beardies,boas, pythons, geckos (leopard, tokay, day) iguanas, ferrets, hedgehog haha a ton of animals.

Feel free to PM me any questions. I have only tried thawed frozen blood worms with them, and I only use it as a treat maybe once a month. Ive seen others feed strictly frozen, and they seem to do fine if started early enough. Overfeeding them seems to be popular now, and tons of people have some that are morbidly obese. Like the fat zoo animals bouncing in that YouTube video. Don't be that person lol

Don’t worry, I won’t be. The only reason the stupid gerbil is fat is because my mom keeps sneaking in and giving her extra (very fattening) pumpkin seeds. I’m trying to get her on a diet
