An here is Liquid360 advice
I've got three females and one male. No probs here... but I do acknowledge it sometimes doesn't. They are individuals.

Enough hashing about this. I will try not to post anymore on this thread unless try to answer any more post about me after this thread.

Speaking of bourbon (( and to lighten the mood )).....

Well, the bourbon dosing was supposed to be top secret until I publish my findings. So, since it's out; bourbon will cure anything that's ails you or your tank.

You know what Ive learned. Nobody is right. What works in one tank wont work in another. We all can mainly agree on one thing only and thats water chemestry, besides thats everything is up in the air. My clown thread where I introduced 2 sets of clowns got into a war however they are getting along fine. Now the next time someone tries this there might be a war. How people dose their tanks wont work in my situation. I know Ive tried...LOL So every little tank is different. I always listen to opinions, I might research some or others. But what happens in the end might or might not work for me, even though it worked for the previous person.

lol never have enough tanks.....maybe you should consoloditate and just get a 1000 gallon tank.

He cant because he has multiple type of anemones.

OrionN is very respected in this hobby for keeping anemones especially carpet anemones. He has some of the most beautiful anemones.

on another forum (yea, i forum surf) there was a kid who had been reefkeeping for 6 months. his tank was blah to say the least (my Opinion here) and he was spouting off things he read as if he wrote the articles. even wrote an article and all about some subject that was so blatantly wrong and full of mis-information (it was obvious like calling something white that was black) yet when folks corrected his mis-information he argued it like he was the discoverer of the information. it took all I could not to say anything negative. I now just ignore those threads. there are these types everywhere.
I remember that!

I've been in this hobby 30+ years and I'm still learning. I've tried almost everything under the sun and not suppose to work and sometimes they've worked for me. What I do know is some hobbyist spend way too much time on the forum repeating what they heard and posting about it like it's fact. I remember several situations at least 7 - 10 years ago on another major forum with initials RC and people were disputing skimmer performance and adjustments to get the best performance. Some of these posters had thousands of post and giving out so much advice that they were invited to become TeamRC moderators. LoL What's funny is that their experience was 2 or 3 skimmers since they got into the hobby and now they are experts. I never argue or even post when it comes to those situation, but what ended up happening was RC members referred all the people with skimmer problems to me and why? Because I've work with at least 50 different skimmers at that point in my life and helping startup skimmer company fine tune their product by asking me to test for them before they are release. I find it a total waste of time to get into these head butts with people who don't know what they're talking about. I remember specially 2 or 3 hobbyist coming to me for advice and these same TeamRC experts told them to do the opposite of what they needed to do and the problem kept getting worst on their tanks. Like I said in my first statement, I'm still learning after 30+ years and some things work and some things don't and I've made things work that wasn't suppose to. It doesn't mean anything... LoL The title of this thread is what caught my attention... it's true. But the content of this thread wasn't necessary after it turn to butting heads.

Personally I think experience is WAY better than facts in this hobby....for example there are quite a few people that spout off about stuff they read like led lights, etc...but yet their tank looks horrible!
Or others that talk about how high alk is bad for sps but can't grow acros.
Ill take experience over book smarts any day!

That is a good point. I guess the proof is in the tanks!

One of the recent conversation topic's at work was about how desensitized our culture has become due to texting and communication through the internet. It was said in the conversation that the generation of children in the US and all over the world no longer know how to have a face to face conversation.

I personally HATE texting because there is little to no legitimate feeling that is portrayed through a text. I also think even sitting at a computer and typing up a response that show's true emotion is hard to do for a lot of the people on the forums.

Even I've had this problem in the past and I'm sure I'll still have this problem in the future.... I once was helping a guy diagnose his problems with a clam and I suggested to him that it may be one of his angel fish nipping on it. This was back when I was active on another forum and he asked for advice there. After I suggested that it may be his angel, he posted in his local forum on another site how he'd like to reach through the internet and strangle some people because his angel fish would never pick on a clam... Little did he know that his local forum is actually my local forum as well and I saw the post. Once I said to him hey, I'm right here if you want to talk it over in person it can be arranged.... He then changed his tune, and took my advice to relocate the clam to another tank. The clam was open in an hours time and reacting regularly... A few days later he publicly apologized to me and thanked me for the help saving his clam.

The moral of the story, don't always assume the person behind the next computer screen is trying to butt heads with you. Please read into it a little bit and if you think this is the case then sometimes it's best to take the high road, be the bigger person, and not say anything back at all....
