I know in the world, at the ocean, there is no 24x7 sun.

I'm not sure if this is true but I have 'accidentally' experienced this for 2 times, where if the corals are exposed to extended lighting time, seems like they are saying 'enough is enough'.

For example today, I've decided to open up the window in my living room to let the fresh air in ... as a result, they're exposed to light pretty much from 8 am in the morning until 5 pm .. the lighting is on from 3 pm to 11 pm ... so that is 15 hours worth of light in a day.

This is what happened: all the LPSs, shrooms, rics .. at approximately 10:55 pm where normally they are still inflated, they no longer are; they shrink quite a bit just as if they're saying enough is enough.

Have you ever experienced this before? What would be the explanation of that?

Is it possible say for a Hammers, Rics, Shrooms, Torches, Frogspawns to stay inflated for full 24 hours? Bleaching for sure but stay inflated?

I've seen similar results. I believe the chlorophyll can only absorb so much energy from light and then there is very little, if any, benefit from continued light exposure.
