I'm pretty sure I've figured out what I've got here, but really just wanted to share some photos I took with my macro lens.

Originally I was photographing the progress of several new zoa polyps, then I noticed a white dot on the plug.

My lens isn't "great" and I'm also dealing with light refraction from the glass and water, but this is a lot more in focus and we can see a fan like structure that when viewed over time, retracts and extends.

Another photo taken with lights off and an indirect light source.. all the zoas are sleeping.

Here's another angle and additional magnification... This one, also shows an even smaller bristleworm, one of two I spotted while watching this critter, that appear to live in the center.

My tank is only 2 months old, but I find this super cool.

I'm glad to see someone new embracing the life forms that appear instead of asking how to kill them. It will only get better with more creatures showing up as time goes on. If you have a sump don't clean it and it will provide a habitat for life to thrive.

To me that looks like a spirorbid worm....................
You may be right. It's the only one I see in the tank. I see that they can spread pretty rapidly in heavily fed tanks. That's something I don't do. Will have to keep an eye on the population to make sure it doesn't become an issue if that's the case.

I was planning to add rock rubble in the sump to provide a habitat for such creatures actually.

Yeah I was just curious because I have like thousands in my tank 😅
