How do you keep your phosphate down around 0.03 but keep nitrates in the system?
GFO reactor. Targets phosphate and leaves my nitrates as is.

can I ask you a question? but you Use 2 mp 40 qd and two gyre Maxspect? what model are the gyres? are they noisy compared to vortech QDs?
The newest gyres... 350... I have the MP60s. The gyres are dead silent.

How much GFO are you running and how often do you change it?

Do you run a fuge too?

Looking great as usual! Keep the pics coming. Hows the baby?

Thanks a bunch! I'll keep snapping away! I was afraid I was being too repetitive with my pictures.

He's not much of a baby any more![emoji50][emoji50][emoji50]

No fuge... About 1 cup of GFO and I swap every month.
Also wondering how much you run and how often do you change it and what is your total water volume?
Total volume 330 gallons roughly.
I love the shape of that blue monster in your tank. so pretty!
Thanks Peng! I love that thing! One of my favorites besides your famous HOTO!

You just let your nitrates roll unchecked then and control phosphate?

Can’t argue with your results. I’m trying to avoid a fuge as I hate dealing with chaeto. Just worried about the nitrates going unchecked and reducing PO4.

I would like to get my PO4 down to .1 and Nitrate to 25 or so. Right now Nitrate is at 50 and PO4 at .31 after removing my fuge a month ago.

I used to control my nitrate more and keep it around 15-20 ppm but seeing that 50 ppm was no different... Just rolled with keeping my phosphates below 0.08 ppm.

Chaeto is great but for no water changes... Any macro algae has the ability to uptake trace elements that are not being replaced with regular water changes. Over time, I've heard some people have issues with it if they aren't doing water changes.

Thanks. That makes a lot of sense. What GFO are you using?

He is getting so big! You better enjoy them when they are small because they grow so fast, get married, and move away. My three at my daughters wedding, two married one to go. Although the one on the right is starting to fit the movie theme Failure To Launch!

Holy smokes! Time goes by fast, my friend.
You're telling me! He was just a baby! Luckily I got another coming in November... Just in time for this one to transition to full toddler.
