So I just got back my first ICP from Fauna Marin. (As a sidenote, it took about two weeks to get results back. Is this normal?) I noticed that with the analysis there is recommendations for adjusting water parameters, but I also noticed that there is a “ reef pills” link on the page. Does anybody know if these are tailored dosing “pills” to correct the low levels indicated on the analysis. There really is very little information when you click the link, but it does have a list of items and a total price. Just interested to know if anybody has dealt with this.

As always, thanks in advance for your help

Do you have any experience with fauna Marin ICP? I’m just wondering if two weeks seems like a normal turnaround time.
I only have experience interpreting folks results, not the turnaround time.

Hey OP, what is your concern with the 2 week turn around? Too slow/too quick? IME with other ICP, 2 weeks is about right.
I was just wondering if there’s other services that are faster or if this is the norm. I’m really fascinated by the fact that you can know all these parameters but Allot can change by the time you get these results back. I guess the right way would be to send them out regularly and keep logs so you can determine the trends. I’m gonna think about it, but I may do weeklies or biweekly for several months, at least you would be able to determine somewhat the effects of your dosing and water changes

When you are relying on mail service and shipping to Europe one to two weeks seems reasonable. If you new what days the USA collection site shipped you could time so your sample arrived on that day.

I am in Canada and it takes about 2 weeks to get ICP results from FM. The lab is in Germany so it takes time to get the package across the pond, through customs etc…

My understanding of the pill is that it contains some elements to address your tank deficiency, so you don’t have to buy all the bottles.
Here is the list of the elements:

It is confusing, it states all values but it only contains following elements…

I never used it and I am not sure if you can buy it outside of Europe. If you can I suspect there will be hefty shipping, customs etc… fee.

Good luck,

Apparently not someone else mentioned that above. I’ve been considering sending the results to captiv8. I’m gonna do several more tests to make sure the results are consistent and then send it to them and maybe start using their products. I’ve heard a lot of good about them.
