favia brain coral questions

so i bought a favia frag from my lfs it has two heads one of which is doing great the other not so well when i bought it about 1/6 of the skeleton on one head was showing at the edge i cant seem to get it to come back iv tried spot feeding with little to no results the other head is doing great it even extends its tenticles but not the other i need help also placement suggestions and flow as well n lastly iv read that it likes a little shade but iv also read to have it exposed to direct high output lighting please help

I would try and get him off the sandbed for a bit. The sand getting on him may be irritating him and causing some stress.

Try that and see if that helps or just glue him to a smaller rock to get him off the sandbed, but still low...
