So today I noticed that one of my Favia coral appeared to have digested a blue legged hermit crab, if you zoom in on the picture you can see the blue legs sticking out of the corals mouth. Is this normal for favia? Has anyone else had this experience? Also the one head that ate the crab is raised much higher then the other two because I’m assuming it ate the shell and all, Is this something I should be worried about it actually being able to digest properly or bad news for the coral?

Also I know, I’ve been trying to work on my algae issue, it just keeps coming back.

I would bet this is actually just the molt. I don't see any way that a favia could eat a hermit unless the hermit happened to die right on top of it, and then it's not going to eat the shell.
Yeah that’s probably more likely then the whole crab, it doesn’t look a ton like a molt but it is also hard to tell since only the legs are sticking out
