The tank you see is an Oceanic 240 which I set up in Aug. '04. Unfortunately this tank has 3 center braces with only 20" between them, and the clam is 30" across fully open.

So I had to move it while I still could get it out without dismantling the tank. So a year ago I had Planet aquarium make me 3 tanks. 2-36"x30"x25" and a center hybrid eurobraced clam tank 60"x30"x31".

The tank on the left will be SPS, the center tank is Gigas/Montipora/LPS, Right is LPS and Softy

Sorry about the short hijack... But my Xenia refugium and (left tank) SPS reef is now using a value SB Reef fixture. So its kind of on topic. Also I've had the clam for almost 10 years and about half that time has been under "Black Box Led Light" (Reef Breeders)

I have a pair of MarsAqua 31" lights on our 125 and they work great.

One "issue" - I modified them to run on the output from our 0-10V controller instead of the pots and now the lowest dimming setting I get out of them is ~50%, even at 0V. I'm still trying to work that one out.

They are approximately 13" above the water on my SPS dominant 150xh

Channel 1 (blue) 90%
Channel 2 (white) 50%

I'm much lower with mine but I'm running a lps and pali tank. I was thinking I was a little low and I have been slowly turning up. I'm going to pick up a seneye reef to do some proper readings in a week

Mars aqua 165 watt dimmable are awesome for $300 I got 3 units for my 125 gal mixed sps & lps corals and I've never had corals grow so fast and colorful and I love that u can dim both the blues and whites greens and reds, I have mine at only 80% power and it's growing my acropora spathulata beautifully.

Slow is best. I did not start off with these levels. I ramped up 5% or so weekly until I got to where I wanted to be. The OR fixtures do not have a lot of white diodes like some other BB fixtures. Very similar spectrum to the SB fixtures.

What height above water and power are you guys running your SBreef lights at. Also how many hours a day? I'm just starting to add corals and I think I have them turned up too high. Bleached one of my new frags, moved it back deeper in the tank and backed my lights down a bit and got polyp extension back, it's just mostly white now. [emoji17]

12 to 16 depending on the dimensions. How deep is the tank?
