Hello I have never had a gonipora ever and I was wondering if people could tell me there favorite looking gonipora? Could you also list some of the different gonipora morphs out that you think are beautiful, I want some options before I make my final decision. Also because I do not know much about them, but can you put different colored Gonipora next to each other, or other corals. Will they sting each other or other things enough to kill them.

Love the red but be it known, gonis are challenging and need the utmost stability. They get a lot of their nutrition from light as they are photosynthetic coral. Proper tank placement is important to ensure your coral is getting the right amount of light and current. Additionally, you should place Goniopora colonies in areas where they can spread their tentacles without coming in contact with other corals. This coral does not get along well with others, and will try to sting and kill any other coral in its vicinity, especially LPS corals such as hammer and frogspawn. You also shouldn't place two different species of Goniopora in a tank together. These corals can secrete a toxic chemical that will kill colonies of a different species.
Goniopora is pretty sensitive and can be closed for a number of reasons. Water flow that is too high or the wrong level of light intensity may be the cause. These corals also tend to curl up if touched by food particles from direct feeding. They may also stay closed if you have fish that are constantly rubbing against them. Oyster eggs is an excellent food for them

Don’t let anyone tell you Goni’s are not aggressive either. Yes that is a 5 inch plus sweeper nailing a part of acro colony. This is from a coral that has maybe a 1/16 of an inch thick skeleton. Definitely crazy animals

Any Goniopora that wants to live. My experience with Goniopora is that unless they are directly fed once or twice a week they will close up and wither away eventually. Turning off pumps and powerheads to spot feed is another chore that I don’t want to do or I’ll forget to do.

I’ve had great luck with a Bernardpora which so far hasn’t required direct feeding and has been growing instead of dying.

That looks similar to the Bernardpora that I have. My Bernardpora also stretches out long like that. It’s kept in the corner away from other corals.
It very well might be. I got it from TSA as a Goni but after watching Jake on RB show his and talk about the characteristics I am inclined to think it was mis labeled and is a Bernard

Oh I love me some Gonis.
Reds, pinks, blueish. All colors.

They can be grouped together but as others have said keep them away from other corals.

This is one I’ve been aquaculturing for almost 5 years. Got this as a wild indo from my LFS. I named this bad boy “Flaming Lotus”. :)

I’ve actually never seen it available anywhere else since I bought my frag. I do occasionally fragged it and sell them.

I don’t feed directly, but I broadcast feed a quite a bit. I make a mix in a squeeze bottle that will last around 3-4 days (in the fridge) that gets fed to the tanks twice a day. It's made up of:
- LRS Reef Frenzy
- BRS freeze dried Mysis
- BRS freeze dried Calanus
- Reef Nutrition ROE
- Reef Nutrition Oyster Feast
- BRS Reef Chili
- Nori
