Feather duster question

I bought a feather duster about a week ago and everything seemed fine and for the last 3 days now I have yet to see him open the top of te tube looks like it's pinched closed and I found what looked like a pice of the fan stuck to my overflow yesterday so I thought it was dead and when I wNt to move the casing I felt the worm move could he have she'd his fan or something and what can I do to help here is a pic of him now

Feather Dusters will periodicaly shed their crown....no need to worry. It will sprout a bigger and better one!

I'm hopping that is what I found lol I tested my water just now and got a temp of 76.7 1.025sg 8.0ph ammonia .5 can't seem to win against it nitrite 0 nitrate 5 phosphate 0 cal360 dkh 11

Never had any luck with them they seem to disappear or get eaten.

We was doing fine and nothing was messing with him so I'm hoping he just droped his fan and is growing a new new one
