Hello all,

I've heard that feather dusters are fine tankmates for seahorses, although I'm a little concerned for my FD. About 20 minutes ago I was about to feed the seahorses when I noticed one of them hitched tightly around the feather duster, and after closer inspection I noticed a small tear in the FD's tube. I've moved the FD to a more remote corner of the tank in hopes that he won't be used to hitch on.

I was wondering if anyone had ever experienced this in their own tank, and if the seahorse hitching onto the FD will be fine for the FD?

Feather dusters make sucky tankmates for a seahorse. Just like you are predicting, a feather tube makes for an awesome seahorse hitch. The seahorse will kill it. I've had it happen.

Most of the time we are worried about what we add to the tanks hurting the seahorses. In this case, it is the seahorse that will cause the issues.
