Feather Dustrer And Poop

I purchased a large feather duster a few days ago. I am noticing that it keeps pooping. My water is crystal clear. What is causing the duster to poop so much? Perhaps what looks like poop is something else. Water parameters are good, but with zero nitrates which I am working on. Also, how can I edit the title? thanks all.

I am not putting that much food in the water. Really strange, but the duster seems happy with it's duster always wide open.
