FedEx sucks

This box had some GHL aquarium equipment in it. For the most part most looks unscathed. There is one questionable item.
The pictures say everything.

Edit: This was a delivery I got on the day I posted it. Someone has implied that I have an agenda. Well, I do.. I report bad service and give people a heads up. Buyer beware. In this case my agenda is no matter how many fragile labels you use Fed Ex will ignore them.

Made the mistake of ordering sand once. ONCE!

Box ripped in half and half the sand was GONE!

I like to be right out there when they come...if the box is damaged or theyre carrying it updide down for live animals....they get berrated by me...most times the next time they come theyre very careful.

It’s all where you live, fedex is top notch in my area and ups is horrible, always late and damaged boxes.

Why is FedEx the standard in this hobby? Especially for live animals? I really don't get it. They are awful.

Apparently "This side up" is just a suggestion to them.

I just got a bucket of salt through UPS. Good thing they put the salt in bags, because the entire bucket was cracked on the bottom.

As someone else said you just got a delivery that was messed up somewhere in their transportation chain. Could have been anywhere and not necessarily the last mile to door step. So a call would be in order to show them the box that was delivered to you. Then ask them to trace the package and see at what point it was damaged. The only way any carrier will improve. Posting here other than venting isn't going to help you as you are pretty much already aware.

While not with FedEx I had a pair of wine cellars shipped from New York (I'm in Ca). First one box clearly damaged. Second box no signs of damage, sign, unbox after they left, damage. Side panel clearly dented. They ship a third one out box is fine, open on the spot to check inside, more damage. Carrier at this point is perplexed because with the exception of the first damage box being visible the latter two didn't show any signs. Carrier shipped again this time requiring signatures and inspections of contents when we found the issue to be the San Francisco hub. Go figure.

Bummer though for sure on your shipment.

Yep.. but to be honest, that was one of those that made me just laugh too. All the fragile labels in the world and they still beat the crap out of it. I’ve always seen when it happened to others but this was my first like this. I thought sharing would at least give a few people a chuckle too. Just gotta laugh sometimes.

I overnighted coral to @dantimdad via fedex and they stole the coral, matched the bag weight with half full motor oil bottles then resealed the package. Then refused to give me my shipping money back or the cost of the coral shipped. I will never use fedex again, ever.

the question is, why would you fill the bag with motor oil? why not just fill it with tap water?... it's so much cleaner!!!

I had Amazon send me a set of Polk towers and they came damaged via UPS Ground. So I called NewEgg and they shipped it via Fedex Ground and it too came damaged. I called Amazon and shared what I just described and came to a conclusion that they are unshippable.

Amazon, shipped a set via Fedex Air, came without a mark on the box. Probably cost them a fortune but I guess they wanted to appease the customer.


Based on my experience at work there is a huge difference between Fedex Ground and Fedex Air - HUGE DIFFERENCE!!!

The fedex air guy that delivers here told me that the air guys are union workers that make decent money and care. The ground crew is whoever they pick at the corner, low pay and constant turn-over.

Whenever I order expensive gear I always request Fedex overnight and just calculate it into the price - never ever had an issue - white glove type delivery every time.

UPS is mixed bag as the truck delivers both air and heavy packages that get piled on top of one another.

Fedex Ground is absolutely the worst!!!

I’m lucky, FedEx, UPS, and USPS are really reliable around here.
