Feeding CUC

How often should I feed my hermits and peppermint shrimp? I've seen alot of different answers on doing research. What is your feeding regime so maybe I can adjust mine. Thanks guys

I don't feed mine at all. They eat whatever the fish don't hopefully and some nuisance algae.

I give them like 3 or 4 crab cuisine pellets every few days and the pellets are only maybe 2mm long.

My clown and rg and wrasse eat all the floating pellets and the live baby brine I feed them so I got the crab cuisine just to make sure atleast twice a week they get something.

I've tried that before. It just blows around uneaten on the sand and raises my phosphate level.

Well it also makes me skimmer go crazy and some times raises other levels so I may just back off for a while and see how levels do without feeding and if they still seem happy and healthy

They eat detritus, algae, microfauna, etc... they are born scavengers. When I had a fish die that I could not get out under a rock, they took care of it.

Ok sweet thanks for the tips. I will definitely be doing kind of a experiment with this whole thing to see how it plays out but I'm sure I will be glad to not have rising levels in my tank

I do not feed my cuc but if they were in a holding tank, I would use a algae based pellet food. Once every day or two

No they aren't in a holding tank they are in the main tank have been for few weeks now

I agree with the feedback above. I don't feed CUC. They get whatever leftovers they can and scavenge throughout the day and night depending on what they are. My shrimp (blood and peppermint) come out and eat with the fish at this point.
