Fighting Dino’s without UV

Is a UV sterilizer NEEDED for treating ostreopsis? I don’t have the budget for one.

For reference I have a 65 gal and Dino’s came out of nowhere but they are hitting hard. (I’m 99% sure it’s ostreopsis)

What are other treatment methods I can use in place of one?

You can try but you may end up using more money fighting Dino’s unsuccessfully without a UV. Losing coral, dosing chemicals, dosing bottled bacteria, dosing phyto, adding copepods, etc. The money can add up. Dino’s wiped out a bunch of my coral during the first year I had my tank. An expensive lesson!

Reading through a ton of dino posts and watching some of the Jason Mack podcasts you'll come to the realization that dino treatment is a multitude of combined strategies - UV chief among them. I'd start dosing silicates immediately if you aren't already and lower your light levels (the gas pedal for dinos).
