Wish I had taken some pictures before clean but fairly new tank about 2 months fully cycled stocked with about 5 fish 15 different types of coral everything is fine but the sand is starting to get green patches also on my back glass not sides or front just back glass and sand. Green film algae with clear bubbles. Doesn’t really blow off from what I can tell I did scrape it off the glass With ease almost looks like dinos but I can’t tell between dinos or diatoms. Trying to catch things before they turn worse

Ugly stage. Likely nothing to worry about. Just diatom. If you notice stringy snot like stuff with bubbles, let us know and call your mental healthcare provider. You’ll need her. Otherwise, sit back and “enjoy” this stage. It will pass soon.

It may be a film as suspected which not blow off but rather scraped off.
I suspect white lights are on lengthy number of hours or tank at or near a window ?
reduce white light intensity and add 3 of each of theses snails:

Turbo grazer
astrea
nassarius
nerite
trochus

The sand bed do have clear like bubbles within the green patches but not stringy like. First tank having sand and i think I’m having buyers remorse lol

Should I even black out the tank for 24 hours or just let things be and go from there. Reduce my whites to nearly 0%? Cut lighting to 50%?
