Film in RODI reservoir?

Hi all

I have a cade reef 1500 s2 thats been running for just under a year now.

While digging through the tank to make sure there were no issues i noticed the water in the RODI reservoir at the bank of the tank was reading 700 tds and had while film all in it.

I tested water straight from my water station that feeds the rodi reservoir and it came out zero, leading me to believe something got in there and contaminated it. I have since drained rinsed and scrubbed as much as i could but i want to prevent this from happening again.

I am adding sealing around the lid of the reservoir but has anyone else dealt with growth in their RODI reservoir and have any tips?

How old is the RO unit? What kind of container are you using?

My unfiltered tap water is "cleaner" than that

I haven't gotten to install my ATO yet and the water has been sitting open in the reservoir for a few weeks without getting touched. It is now at 7μS/cm (3.5ppm - 5ppm) TDS. A bacteria film can be quite normal over time as all it takes is some tiny bug or fly to drown in the reservoir, but I don't think it should go up to 700μS/cm or even worse 700ppm.

First thought that comes to mind is salt spray accumulated.
Maybe move the reservoir away from the tank or sump?

Unit is pretty old but I changed the media maybe 6 months ago and TDS coming out is still zero

PPM. higher TDS than I've seen anywhere. Dipped the tds meter right in, double checked with fresh RODI and checked again. Drained and rinsed the reservoir a few times now and its reading 0-1 coming out, i plan to rinse it a few more times to get anything else out that I can...

Its built in to the tank unfortunately. I am gonna make sure its well sealed before getting it filled back up
