Filter Media Recommendation Please

This aquarium is new to me, it came with a bit of filter media. I'm ready to order more but don't know what to get!

Here is what it came with -

This is where the filter media goes into the EMPTY SUMP (still figuring our what I should put in there!) -



The area it sits on is ~12x18 inches, but l like to have a bit extra up the sides as well...so 14x20 would be good.

I just want something that is actually good and not just start buying junk off of Amazon!!! I hope someone has a good suggestion.

I'm hoping to change this once per week!?!

What do you use/like/recommend?

There are tons of options. As long as it does not clog easily I think any of them will be fine. They come in rolls and have different thicknesses. You are straining the water and tossing the used floss so I would not spend a fortune on it. We used to use cotton years ago before the age of plastics.

I really like the Sera Crystal Clear. It is a bit more expensive than generic floss, but because it is a 3d plastic instead of a wool you can wash it. I usually get at least 4 months of weekly washing before I need to replace it. I just pop it in the washer with no detergent and then put it back in the sump.
