Filter tank ideas

I want to do a custom tank, and I am curious how to create a "filter tank." The current tank I have is 30g and I want to upgrade to 100g and use the 30g as the tank with the filter, water heater, pump, protein skimmer, etc. I have some ideas, but I want to hear what people have done. Thanks!

Nate, your "filter tank" is what we normally call a sump. The majority of reefers use one. Generally, the sump has three chambers: one for the skimmer and drain lines from the DT, one for the return pump, and one for a refugium (fuge).

Ha ha! I knew I didn't have the right nomenclature. There are more acronyms in reefing than there is in the military. Thanks for the tip and correct terminology.
