Hi All, been watching reef2reef since starting this hobby and finally made an account. Please excuse my English, I try my best.

I started reefing last year. Before that I had freshwater aquariums on and off but it never could catch my attention as reefing has done. I think I was inspired by Danny’s aquariums. The guy who has a YouTube channel and keeps reefs without sumps and skimmers. For me this was a eye opener because this was the first time I discovered you can start small/simple in reefing. I used a 10g aquarium with a oase biomaster as my first reef. I think I kept it for 5 months and was a great introduction to reefing. I made a lot of faults there, like using a cheap hydrometer which led to having a salinity of 39 for months, or a crummy heater and running the temp way to high, chancing things way to fast., etc.etc. But it was a great learning experience.

After that I upgraded to my current aquarium. A 25g custom/shallow reef. With sump. This is when it really started for me. It was great to finally have a sump to put stuff out of sight. And I finally had room to buy more corals! And not to forget fish. In the 10g I only kept inverts and didn’t know I would enjoy the fish as I do now. Made a lot more mistakes(nothing mayor) bought a lot of coral, lost a lot of coral. And grew out of room fast. So, in January I decided to order a new 75g nyos opus 300 and still waiting( allegedly production problems)ordered a nice polycarbonate lid to match and currently have all the new equipment waiting on my shelf(hope it all works).

In the mean time I moved my reef to another spot, bought more corals and fish, built and cycling my new aquascape and try to keep motivated during the wait for my new reef.
