Acquired one of my bucket list fish yesterday: a Marine Betta. You wouldn’t believe how little information is out there about these guys! Anyway, true to form, after a day in QT, he’s still pretty much in hiding and not eating. I’ve heard some folks got theirs started on ghost shrimp then weaned them over. So ghost shrimp can be purchased from an LFS? Anybody have any other info about this fish that they’d care to share? Thanks in advance.

No info on the fish im afraid, but pretty much any store that does freshwater has ghost shrimp. Petsmart, petco, or your local ma and pa fish store :)

A hardy, peaceful fish.

The ones I have had loved Piscine mysis. That is the only food they would come out for.

They sometimes take a few days to start eating. Try mysis shrimp. Add it and then try to hide from the fish's view and watch to see if it eats. Siphon out any uneaten food every day. Another thing that may help is adding another fish who is eating. You can also try the live ghost shrimp and live brine shrimp. Good luck! They are really cool fish! Do watch out, because they can eat small fish if they are large enough.

I've found them to be pretty well behaved with small fish. While it is possible for them to eat small fish, it is quite irregular. They do seem to specialize in hunting shrimp.

Hope he was born with good intentions as he would going into a DT with a Bell’s Wrasse approximately half his size.

That won't be an issue.

I had one years ago fed it live brine, once it got comfortable it was out cruising the tank a lot.. beautiful fish.
