We need to bring back the a..... Thread.

Other than that, Nitrates still rising, installed a biopellet reactor in the skimmer section. It'll take a few weeks, as will the macro stork. Taking a multi tier approach.

Aggressive skimming
25% WC every other week
Bio reactor
Assorted macro (TBD)

Looking for more ideas. Feeding less isn't an option.

Algae scrubber if that combo doesn’t work.

Honestly bro I have a difficult time growing algae, despite 61 nitrates .41 phos. 8.9 alk Coraline Barely grows.
Coraline does not like po4 that high. Need to get to the root issue with the po4. Don’t get me wrong, I have had awesome sps tanks with numbers near that before, but not like they were when dialed in to about 10-15 and .1-.15

I'm actively working towards that. I've just kind of had to start to give a .... Because some of the corals I want to keep, require it.

Gonis/ Alves will Not open in my system. They are some of my favorite corals and I have an area I would like to fill with them. GSC always has incredible ones available and I can see them in person. I'm willing to get it down and stable, to achieve that.

Depending on how much room you have in the sump, diy may be a good fit.

Also, have you figured out where the po4 is coming from?

I'm assuming it's coming from 8-10 frozen cubes a day.

+3/4-1 nori sheet a day

Holy baby jebus.

Get a pantyhose, some ro tubing, air line union or check valve (doesn’t matter) super glue and some zip ties. We gonna build you a food rinser.

Cut a 14” piece of ro tubing
Make a circle and connect via superglue on both ends of union/check valve.
cut pantyhose at foot while glue dries.
slide pantyhose over ring until it is almost tight, but has a slight drop in the center of the ring.
make very small holes in the pantyhose all around the ring
Insert zip ties and fasten
Cut off excess pantyhose, but make sure no to cut off any that will leave a hole in the screen

you now have a strainer for the food

Thaw food in water.
poor food into newly made strainer
Rinse with bottle water or even tap water.
place food back in container and add some bottle water to it.
Can be stored for up to 3 days in drive before starts to smell not so pleasant.

PO4 drops in tank.

This has been your redneck “hold my beer” educational lesson of the day n

I have 200 micron stainless steel screen that I use for sifting pollen.

If I'm visualizing what you're saying, We can high class redneck this.

Is straining your food SOP and I just didn't know about it?

I have been known to use old wore out filter socks also lol. Since switching to making my own food, I do not have the issue of po4 in frozen. I wash all of my clams, mussels, squid, tilapia, etc really well before freezing.
