Finicky eating clowns

Hey guys so I recently purchased some clowns after being without any for a little while and they’ve always been a little weird when it comes to eating, one more than the other but now it seems like I can’t see either of them eating when I feed the tank. I feed a mixture of reef nutrition, frozen like my sis and spiralina brine and picked up some pellets aswell of different kinds and they don’t show interest to anything. I usually do not turn off flow when I feed as I try and feed as often as possible all at different times of the day and all other fish have no issues but last night I turned all pumps to feed mode and put in some pellets and beta brine and still no luck. Any input out there maybe something different to try? The last two clowns I had ate all these same foods like savages

It's not uncommon for clownfish to take their time before eating enthusiastically. You can always try feeding what the vendor fed them. Don't offer too much food because you're concerned about them not eating.

I have a damsel, a dotty back and a small tang about 3” in length

How big is that tank? Also agreed that pictures (or even better, a video!) under white lighting will be of the most help.

If your LFS has brine shrimp, pick up some and see if your clownfish will eat them. Live foods tend to entice fish to eat. They're not very nutritious but as long as you get a feeding response, the hard part might be behind you.

By you stating that you feed the clownfish "reef nutrition" are you referring to TDO Chroma Boost? My clownfish love that.

Another food to try is LRS food like Fish Frenzy.

Wait them out ...I had a pair of WC percs , the male ate good , female wouldn't accept anything , not even cyclopeeze...Just kept feeding the tank every day , with calanus flake food..and eventually She came around and pecked at it at first -then ate well, and eventually- she ate like she was going to the electric chair... I know it's frustrating,but be patient..

Were they quarantined? My current pair of WC percs went on a hunger strike because of some internal parasites.

Not uncommon for clownfish to not eat much at first. TDO Chroma Boost was suggested above and that is a great pellet food. I also like Golden Pearls (500-800 micron), Nori flakes and Hikari mysis. You can also try freshly hatched brine but that is more for wild caught fish who show no interest in prepared or dead food.

Food floating by really fast sometimes seems to activate their feeding response.
