I’ve had tanks over the years (40, 55, 400, 12, most recent 165). Due to a move I had to sell the Red Sea tank and now that I’m settled in I got a WB 25 peninsula. So I upgraded to to Sicce silent 1.0, bought the AI prime HD 16, I might get the Nero 3 but I’ll see how flow is when I get it up and running. I’m mainly focusing on softies, zoas, mushrooms this go around. So the first issue that came up is no stand. I looked and looked and for even the prices of ikea furniture I decided to build my own. I’ve attached pics and also wanted something sleek and a custom appearance. I built a canopy for it as well not only for looks but to keep light spillage to a minimum. With the stand and canopy I’ll most likely do a primer of kilz mold and mildew and then probably paint it black. I have pukani rock from my prior tank that I’ll be using and also have some in a little biocube that’s running with my long fin clowns and a few corals I’ve acquired recently, gold mushrooms, teal finger leather, alien green cabbage coral and a couple of others. I’ll transfer everything over once the stand is cured and ready to go. So far so good! That’s where I’m at so far.

Here’s a little update. Stand and canopy are painted. About 20 pounds of Fiji pink sand, transferred over live pukani/dry pukani and corals and fish/inverts. Rock I kind of threw in there close to how I wanted it set up but it’s not a done deal. Pistol shrimp made his home under the large structure

Very cool build! I am in the process of setting up the same tank. Would you mind sharing what equipment you are using in your rear three chambers?

Sure! so far chamber 1 I have filter floss, I’m going to get one of the upgrade filter media holders in the near future. I also put some bio balls from my prior tank that are seeded probably about 6 years old in the bottom of 1. second chamber I used one of the filter blocks they sent with and threw a bag of chemi pure blue in there on top of the remaining bio balls I had, have a 100 watt jaeger heater on the wall in there, 3rd chamber is strictly the sicce silent 1.0. It is extremely silent but not as much output as I was expecting though. I’ll definitely add a Nero 3 or something close to that. I’m running the chemi pure to soak up whatever residual nutrients and clear the water from the new/old sand. The old sand I had was extremely clean and was worth getting that biodiversity from it. I’ll monitor my nutrients for the next couple of weeks just to make sure no spikes just in case. In the near future I’ll add an ATO. Love the tank so far! Can’t wait for it to start growing out!

Very cool! I assume you are not using the stock plastic bio balls that came with the tank? Is there a link you could share to the media holder you are considering? I'd love to see what you have in mind, because I was thinking of doing something similar.

No on the plastic ones. These are marine pure ceramic bio balls from my 165 gal tank that I had a few years ago. Kept my pair of long fin clowns and a couple of corals in a biocube until I got this. Intank makes them. Google intank and the website will pop up. Yes I’m trying to keep it simple. Maybe a 5 gallon water change a week but I’ll see how it goes

That’s the place to go for sure!

Thank you both so much! This is exactly what I was looking for. Just placed an order for the custom Chamber 1 media holder.

Quick question…how easy was it to remove the bracket in the first chamber of your tank in order to fit the inTank Aquatics media basket?

I haven’t pulled it out but I’ve heard it’s pretty easy to cut out
Just finished removing it. As a heads up, I would not consider it easy haha. The website says you can “gently rock back and forth,” but I had to apply some serious pressure in addition to carving into the silicone with a box cutter.

Looking good! I'm doing a similar downsize to a WB peninsula 25
It’s definitely interesting with limited space after having a large tank! I’m already getting a little carried away on corals! I’ll post up some recent pics when I leave the firehouse in the morning

Here’s an update. So I redid some of the aquascape so it gives me more open space. Originally this is what I was going for and I’ll see how I like it in a few days. Added a white polyp devils hand frag, and a nice zoa garden. It’s still a little cloudy from moving around the rocks/corals and I did a water change. Front corner has a rock w some cloves on it but I’m not sure if I want that in the long run. This week I’m picking up a nice chunky frag of gobstopper zoas and purple candy canes.
