Posted a couple days ago about my dottyback showing symptoms (who’s doing better, update soon), but we noticed now that our firefish are experiencing some issues as well. One of them has an inflamed eye on the one side, is breathing heavy, and hides often, and then the other one has a white spot near his tail that appears to be getting whiter as time goes on, though is asymptomatic otherwise. We’re treating for flukes right now which seemed to show signs of improvement on the Dottie, but I’m wondering if these cases are related or separate coincidences? Everyone else (clowns, goby, and shrimp) are without symptom.

Tried to add an image, not sure if it worked.

This is likely the result of an injury and a fish as you may know who quickly darts into rocks and crevices , causing this. You can wait a day or two to see if it subsides or begin a safe treatment in a separate tank using maracyn for at least 5 days as pictured

Can you post a link to your other thread? It is generally best to keep all recent posts about a fish problem in the same thread, even if they seem to be from different causes. It allows us to look for commonality, as well as reducing the need to ask the same questions again.
