I have a 55G tank with 2 Yellow Tangs, 5 O. Clowns, and 1 Royal Gramma. Would it be possible for me to safely keep two firefish in my tank?

And if not, what others would you suggest?

A bonded pair yes, but I wouldn't just buy 2 from a store. If not a true pair you'll eventually end up with 1. Any of the darts do well with firefish.

Do they do well all by them selves or do they prefer a partner, I often see tanks with only two.

Fairly new 2 saltwater? 2 Tangs and 5 clowns imo is just asking for trouble at some point in a 55. I'd remove 1 tang and 3 clowns before adding anything else.

Everything is going well. Tangs no longer fight like they used to. All the clowns get along as well.

I'm thinking long term, in the short they may but as the tangs grow and clowns start 2 lay eggs is where your issues will arise. I always tell people you may not like everything said but it's up 2 you in what you choose 2 use, if any.

I'm planning an upgrade soon as well. I'll deal with the problems as they come, that's what I like about the hobby. When I bought the tangs I knew I'd have to remove them as some point. As for the clowns.. we'll see what to do about that. Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it!

Yes I have! My uncle purchased a McCosker's Flasher but his brittle star ate it. Beautiful fish! Are they hard to keep or require unique water parameters?
Not at all. I have a carpenter's, with a small mccosker in quarantine. They are colorful, active, and the flashing is stunning. When you go bigger, checkout fairies.

The guy always comes to the front of the tank when I come into the room. Or that could be because he is hungry, he has a stomach like a clock:)
