Yup that does seem to be the downfall with the aquafuge so I will be doing something to combat that issue also, but it is working great on the 20. Thank you for the info on the xf230's also!
Thanks! Happy to be here!
I also used tape to black mine out. I had some of the metallic adhesive duct tape (not the grey stuff, the actual metal HVAC tape) that worked great to send light back into the fuge.
Interesting idea! that never crossed my mind. Nothing beats a failure but a try right? I will have to give that a go! Thanks!
Thank you I will do that!
Saw your score on the 75gal DT. Nice find! Keep it up!
Indeed! I felt pretty good about it. Its going to be a fun build.
Thanks! I will as I move on this 75 which won’t be long now.
UPDATE ON THE 20
The 20 is coming along. It’s going through the cycle process now into it’s third week. Had a little Diatoms breakout in the aqua fuge 2 all over the chaeto. I’m going to try and clean it in new salt water the same salinity as the tank to see if I can save it. Time will tell on that. I’ll post a pic later of the chaeto.
I tested the water to see how the cycle is going.
That’s about it for now.
A couple of corals going in the 20 when it ready. Those will be going in the 75 when it’s done. I have these in my son QT for the time being.

Added coralline algae in a bottle tonight to the 20g
I actually ordered some of this too... Hopefully it works. Not super expensive if it doesn't, but still.
People seem to be getting lots of green (hopefully coralline).
I’ve seen a lot of people talk about this and recommend it so time will tell in a few weeks!
Mine arrives tomorrow! We can compare progress
Indeed we will do that. I followed the instructions to a tee. All my parmiters were spot on with the instructions. I’m excited to see how well this works. I will do it again with the 75 when it’s set up.
UPDATE ON THE 20gNew light for the 20
New torch for the 20 when it’s ready
