I've been beefing up my zoa collection since I built my new tank. I'm up to 21 different types, and they've all been in the low to midrange price categories so far.

I've got a couple that were kind of expensive for multiple polyp frags, but this week I'm getting my first truly "high end" one... A single polyp GMK.

I don't know why I'm so nervous. All my zoas do really well for me, but this one is different.

Yeah. My 3 polyp Ktar Black Hornet frag has been my most expensive so far, but this is more, and for a single polyp.

Don't get me wrong. I'm excited, but also have some butterflies in my gut! :D

What lighting do you have it under, high or low in tank?

It's on a rock on the sandbed in about 90 PAR max. I run older AI Prime HDs that I've upgraded to LUX-Engine LED pucks.

I dose RedSea AB+ everyday (half the recommended amount) and broadcast feed Reef Chili 3x a week.

My Utter Chaos, Rainbow Incinerators, White Zombies and Kamikaze Kush have all grown a new polyp in the same timeframe.

White zombies are super fast growers for me. Mine have grown 7 heads in 8 weeks.

Whats a GMK? Obviously, I see the photo. But how "high end" are they? Its a really cool looking zoa! Love me some zoas, my first tank's zoa garden was decimated by a large swarming colony of brown palys, I wish I hadn't bought that rock!

So far most of the growth has been on the back side of my GMK rock where it's hard to see and impossible to photograph. But, I was looking the other day and, out of nowhere...

Two more new polyps coming in right up front!

I didn't notice them before because I've been preoccupied with this one for the last few days. Sorry for the terrible picture, but it's acclimating in a dimly lit, lower flow back corner of the tank, so it's hard to get a good picture for now.

Suffice it to say, if this thing doesn't melt on me, the GMK won't be my "highest end" zoa anymore. :D

GMK babies are growing in well!

I also think I'm "out of the woods" with my Dayglo Volcano. It hasn't opened all the way yet, but it's getting there.

Perhaps most importantly, it's been more than 2 weeks now, and it hasn't melted! I'll call that a win! :D
