Hello!

just picked up a 90 gallon tank and a 40 gallon Sump. Good deal used. I’ve been looking at the Sump and the way it’s set up doesn’t look like anything I’ve seen pictures of while lurking around here.

I’ve attached a picture - Is it set up for chamber 1 to be return, 2 skimmer, and 3 refugium?

What are the little glass baffles on the bottom of chamber 2?

There’s a weird little gap in the pane of the first baffle in between 2 and 3, I’ve marked it in the picture. Also the plastic bracket on chamber 2 is removable.

This is my first reef tank, just trying to get things figured out.

Thanks!

Looks like overflow into 1, return in 3...?? Don't know what those two small pieces on the bottom of 2 are for. When I had a sump, I had overflow into one side and the return on the opposite, to make sure the water was flowing through the entire sump.

Figuring out the why: Has your primary reason(s) for keeping a saltwater aquarium changed over time?
