OK, so I'm moving and having to downsize back to my 4' 50g tank. Now, I'm estimating my snowflake eel to be a good 14" minimum. He's eating OK in there but I want to make sure confining him like that (until I can get a new 125g) isn't fish abuse. I care about him very much.

Usually a 4ft tank wouldn't work for a 14" fish, but eels are a different story, especially a snowflake, which stays small for an eel. You should be fine.

I do think he's at his max size, though I'd have to double-check.
I just discovered a problem with skyrocketed ammonia, so I might have to get rid of him anyway, but I'm REALLY hoping not to have to. This guy's awesome. Thankfully, Dad's come to the rescue and it looks like he'll be buying me a bottle of nitrifiers...hoping for the best.

ARE YOU READY TO CONFESS TO CRAZIEST, DUMBEST, FUNNIEST THING YOU’VE EVER DONE IN REEFING?
