After my tank is cycled, is it possible to add two clown fish, some crabs, snails, and possible a goby and some shrimp all on the same day?

I’m buying my animals online, so it’s hard to only get 1-2 at a time

I wouldnt but how big is your tank? SO it depends. Do you plan to quarantine all those before adding to the newly cycled tank?

50 gallon tank. No I’m buying them pre QT, don’t have space to QT myself
It should be fine with a 50 gallon tank. Just monitor ammonia and nitrite levels for the first 24-48 hours. Also, you might want to make sure you have premixed salt water ready to do water change in case those levels spike, or at least have a store nearby to buy premixed salt water in case of an emergency.

Is this your first time running a reef or fish only saltwater tank? Do you have real "live rock" in your tank?...i dont mean dead rock or dry rock. Does it have life to support your crabs or snails. <--- How many is some? 3 fish seems like alot to add if your just starting a new tank your first time. I dont know if you have prior experience

So not a good idea for a new reefer?

I am not sure if it’s not a good idea for a new reefer. If the OP is aware of the basics and is prepared for emergency (access to premixed water), it should be fine. I am suggesting this based on the assumption that tank will be fully cycled.

First time reefer. Used only Caribsea dry rock (no live rock). 30% live sand. Using Dr Tim’s cycle method.

So maybe just try to get only two clowns instead of a group of animals to prevent it from failing?

Judging by how new you tank is, I would hold off on the CUC (clean up crew) for now. The Clowns and the Goby, I would do first. Like others have mentioned, keep an eye on your Ammonia levels for the first week or two. If you really want a shrimp, you could add that as well. They will eat what your fish miss. You will start having an "ugly stage" with a new set up even though cycled. At that time, the snails will have plenty to forage on. The timelines depends on your set up, filterstion, water movement etc.

That’s good to know. Thank you all for the advice! So it sounds like this would be a. Good strategy-

Finish cycling with no ammonia and nitites after 24 hour after dosing ammonia

Add two clowns, wait a week or two

Add a goby and pistol shrimp

Once ugly phase comes, add snails and clean up crew hermit crabs

Then after a few more weeks, then I can add more fish or CUC?

Sounds reasonable to me. Watch the clowns when you introduce the goby. Chances are they won't bother it. But good to watch for bullying anyway. The goby will most likely hide at first. Also monitor you ammonia levels periodically after you add the fish. The tank maybe cycled, but nowhere near established. Better to be safe than sorry.

Will do. Thanks for the tips! Any space in my plan to add a coral sooner? Would that maybe help with the bullying?

I'm going to link you to this thread. This is full of a lot of valuable information and should help answer some of your questions!

Coral honestly is not going to help from clowns being clowns. Don't rush into adding corals to your tank, make sure your parameters are stable first, then consider adding some easy corals (zoas, duncans, mushrooms, or toadstools to name a few)

I'm not the guy to give advice on adding corals, but changing or rearranging the aquascaping when adding new fish helps for sure.
