Oils it be that some of the rocks I put in were on abucketninside my garage for months and maybe the fumes or something got to them and now are leaching to the tank??

The weird part is that the corals are good and the CUC as well. Is like you said. If it was something in the water would have killed the CUC already, right??

Most likely your fish never withstood the stress of transportation and the bags in which they were already had toxic levels of ammonia build up.

Agreed. The fact that there was a dead bangaii in the same bag as two other bangaii is a huge sign. I would never ship 3 fish in the same bag no matter how small.

It's easy to second guess, but these are the realities of shipping fish....it's stressful to the fish, and sometimes it's going to make sense to do it this way – I've received LOTS of fish that were multiple to a bag.

It's whether there's a systemic problem with this vendor (or not) that tells the story. Ie. If they consistently think three in a bag will work, but it consistently does not and customers receive partial or total DOA shipments, that won't last long one way or the other. (This thread should probably be in the vendor complaint section if that were the case.) I don't know how we could know if that's happening from our POV though....we're speculating.

In any event, it will be up to the vendor to decide what to do about it.

I did. They gave me a store credit for the firefish but not for the cardinals

It’s weird - I worked in fish wholesale for many years - we would pack thousands of neon tetras in a single bag, but saltwater fish were always shipped singly. Even from overseas, the pack is always one fish per bag.

Sorry to hear that, but good to know their shipping practices. I would not be purchasing from them if that’s how they do business.

I have never received more than 1 fish in a bag. I have received inverts like CUC in multiples. Dr. Reef should explain this policy. Why not put them in 3 smaller bags? If I recall one was DOA in the Bag so they should replace that one.

I actually purchased 2 and when I asked them why they send three they said they sent an extra one because cardinals usually don’t ship well and in case one die I had the two I ordered.

Sounds like they are giving you a BS answer. When I was in the business, I would never ship more than 1 fish per bag.
