Hey so as the title says, I might be able to set up a new 45 gallon. I'm going to list every fish I'm interested in below. While not all of these will make it into the final tank, however, the first three would only be excluded from the tank if I can't provide suitable care.

Ruby Fairy Wrasse
Azure Damsel (added last)
Melenurus Wrasse
Fathead Anthias
Sleeper Goby
Falco Hawkfish
Longnose Hawkfish
Springers Dottyback
Royal Gramma
Tailspot blenny
Midas Blenny (moved from one of my other tanks)
Pink Streaked Wrasse

That's about it, but you are welcome to suggest any fish you think would be cool to have in the tank.

What are the dimensions?

The wrasses, besides the pink streak, and the dottyback concern me a bit.

26.5” x 22” x 19”, I do see the concern with the melanurus, but the ruby fairy wrasse is among the smaller fairy wrasses at 3 inches.

Ruby Fairy Wrasse - I wouldn't, in a 2 foot tank
Azure Damsel (added last)
Melenurus Wrasse - Again, I wouldn't in that tank size
Fathead Anthias - Not sure. They're not my bag
Sleeper Goby - Probably fine
Falco Hawkfish - I would go with the longnose
Longnose Hawkfish - Yes
Springers Dottyback - It will be really aggressive in that sized tank, and won't pair well with the gramma. They actually do better in big tanks with big fish
Royal Gramma - Yes
Tailspot blenny - Yes
Midas Blenny (moved from one of my other tanks) - Yes
Pink Streaked Wrasse - Yes

In short, I would go with:
Pink streaked wrasse
Tailspot blenny
Royal gramma
Midas blenny
Long nose hawk

After those are all established, and if you think you need another, think about the damsel.

Fathead Anthais, tanks a bit small for that, but you can try.
Likely going to be freaked by the heavy wrasse content.

Yeah, I've heard that the fatheads are a little timid when it comes to feeding, so they weren't at the top of my list. They're also super expensive where I live.

Presuming your not going to heavily stock it, most of them look fine, however I’d avoid the Mel Wrasse and the Fathead. They can both commonly attain a very ‘medium’ fish size that would be pushing it with those tank dimensions in the long term.
